How it Works

ICP token holders can lock stake their tokens on the Network Nervous System (NNS) to participate in governance and earn voting rewards. Stakers have to lock their tokens for between 6 months and 8 years to earn voting rewards and then vote on governance proposals to earn voting rewards.

Slake allows ICP holders to earn voting rewards while maintaining flexibility in redeeming their staked ICP.

Steps to Using Slake

  1. ICP holders can choose to deposit their tokens on Slake.

  2. Slake issues a liquid/transferrable Slake Staked ICP tokens (sICP) as a receipt for deposits.

  3. sICP holders earn voting rewards on their tokens.

  4. Depositors can choose to redeem their sICP at a later time and receive their initial deposit plus any accrued voting rewards.
